There’s a special reason why Danielle Denise has a song in her heart these days. The 41-year-old soprano is singing from the rooftops as she exclusively tells HELLO! she’s expecting her second child with husband Gus Christie. “We are so thrilled and excited,” she says “We’re still waiting to find out the sex of the baby. A little girl would be an amazing surprise.” Danielle’s newest production is due in November which is music to the ears of the couple’s son Bacchus (left, with his parents) who turned 5 in June. “He talks to my tummy,” Danielle says. “It’s so sweet to see him so excited.”

Gus, who is chairman of the annual Glyndebourne opera festival, adds: “He said it was the best birthday present ever.”

Danielle’s bump is already getting used to life on stage – the singer is currently in rehearsal (below) for Glyndebourne’s first opera since lockdown, In the Market for Love, which starts on 12th of August.

Meanwhile, Danielle has been pulling out all the stops and making sure the show goes on, no matter what. “As a singer, it was quite hard to navigate while doing many of the virtual performances I did during the lockdown,” she says. “The toughest one was getting sick about 45 minutes before I was due to sing Danny Boy live on Radio 4 Today Programme. Thankfully and went well.”
