Comedian, musician and bestselling author Tony Hawks has recorded a new song, called Lockdown, and is using it to raise awareness of the Telegraph’s Coronavirus Appeal.

All proceeds from our appeal go to the national poverty charity Turn2us, which is providing emergency grants for people in the UK who have been hardest hit financially by the Covid-19 crisis.

A video to accompany the song features a number of well known figures, all sharing their lockdown moments; they include Stephen Fry, Sandi Toksvig, Rob Brydon, Richard Madeley, Jo Brand, Alexander Armstrong, Ben Miller, Helen Lederer, Tanya Burr, David Baddiel, Angus Deayton, Sir Tim Rice, Alistair McGowan, Kathy Lette, Professor Alice Roberts, Will Greenwood, David Coulthard, Jack Dee, Danielle de Niese and Katie Piper.

In just under two weeks, the Telegraph appeal has raised over £700,000 for Turn2us.

The song is also available on iTunes, with all proceeds going to our appeal.
