The Wanted star joins Olivier Award winner Danielle de Niese, Shaun Dooley and Fayth Ifil as the acclaimed musical prepares to celebrate its 1,000th London performance
The producers of Hadestown have unveiled a star-studded new cast for the hit West End musical, with Nathan Sykes, Danielle de Niese, Shaun Dooley, Fayth Ifil and Malinda Parris joining the company from 15 September 2026.
The announcement comes as the Tony and Grammy Award-winning production prepares to celebrate its 1,000th performance at London’s Lyric Theatre this week.
Former The Wanted star Nathan Sykes will make his West End debut in the leading role of Orpheus, bringing his chart-topping music career to the critically acclaimed musical. He will be joined by internationally renowned soprano and broadcaster Danielle de Niese, who takes on the role of Persephone after winning this year’s Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Opera.
Acclaimed screen and stage actor Shaun Dooley, whose credits include Mr Bates vs The Post Office, It’s a Sin, Broadchurch and Saltburn, has been cast as Hades, while West End favourite Fayth Ifil will play Eurydice following standout performances in Tina – The Tina Turner Musical and Just For One Day.
Completing the principal line-up is Malinda Parris, who takes over as Hermes. Parris has appeared in a host of major productions including & Juliet, Mary Poppins, Matilda, Hercules and The Greatest Showman.
They join Melanie Bright, Spike Maxwell and Lauran Rae as the Fates, alongside a returning ensemble and swing company.
Featuring music, lyrics and a book by Anaïs Mitchell, and directed by Tony Award winner Rachel Chavkin, Hadestown reimagines the Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice and Hades and Persephone, blending folk, blues, jazz and contemporary pop influences into one of the most celebrated musicals of recent years.
The production continues at the Lyric Theatre in London’s West End, with the new cast taking to the stage from 15 September.
